"Melanie
Votaw is a talented writer/editor who helped me with the editing of one

admire her work ethic and have already recommended her to a friend, who
has also been very happy with her work. I would not hesitate to

Faces
of Freedom Profiles of America’s Fallen Heroes
Compiled by Rebecca Pepin
I'm
proud to have written a story for this book, which profiles fallen members of
the military who lost their lives in Iraq or Afghanistan. Available now and
receiving a great deal of print and television press, the book includes one service member from each of the 50 states, and all
branches of the military are represented. Faces of Freedom has received
pre-publication praise from U.S. Senators John McCain (R-Arizona), Chuck Hagel
(R-Nebraska), and Max Cleland (D-Georgia), and proceeds will benefit the Wounded
Warrior Project and Fisher House, two organizations that aid wounded veterans
and their families. It means a lot to be able to offer this tribute to the
family of a very brave and devoted Marine from my home state of Kentucky -
DeShon Otey.
